{"id":15763,"date":"2025-10-28T16:28:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T15:28:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sicoly.fr\/entrepreneurship-in-agriculture-the-tour-of-sicoly-orchards\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T17:03:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T16:03:16","slug":"entrepreneurship-in-agriculture-the-tour-of-sicoly-orchards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sicoly.fr\/en\/entrepreneurship-in-agriculture-the-tour-of-sicoly-orchards\/","title":{"rendered":"Entrepreneurship in agriculture \u2013 The tour of Sicoly orchards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Our Sicoly cooperative and its producers have organised and launched a unique movement to concretely promote the transmission-takeover and installation of agricultural project leaders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>On 9 October, <strong>90 students<\/strong> from <strong>three agricultural training schools<\/strong> visited <strong>3 agricultural businesses<\/strong> and the storage, packaging and shipping <strong>infrastructure <\/strong>of the<strong> Sicoly cooperative<\/strong>, in an immersive tour.<\/p>\n\n<p>The production companies visited, in the heart of the Monts du Lyonnais, allowed the different audiences to understand the diversity of productions and models:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>At C\u00e9line Sivignon (GAEC du Guillermin in Messimy): <\/strong>an agricultural engineer by training, producer of apples, vine peaches, cherries and table grapes with her brother and husband, for long circuits (mass distribution) and local circuits (network of Terres Lyonnaises stores developed by Sicoly\u00ae in partnership with Cerise et Potiron).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>With the testimony of producer <strong>Philippe Goy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chez Simon Mermet (EARL du Pavillon in Mornant): <\/strong>an agricultural engineer by training, set up in November 2020, producer of cherries, berries and melons for the fresh and processed sectors, and local circuits.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>With the testimonies of <strong>Nicolas Laurent<\/strong> (breeder and cherry producer) and <strong>Gilles Gaudin<\/strong> (producer set up outside the family in 2004, selling in seven years).<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>At Anthony Perrot (EARL Les Vergers du Cri in Chabani\u00e8re), <\/strong>a young producer who set up in 2019 and joined the family business (<sup>4th<\/sup> generation), producing strawberries, apples, cherries, pears and apricots with Sicoly and for direct sale.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>With the testimony of <strong>Gr\u00e9goire Cote<\/strong>, a young man who settled in 2020 in Loire-sur-Rh\u00f4ne in the south of the Rh\u00f4ne department, with about fifteen hectares of orchards (including pears for the <em>baby food<\/em> sector with Bl\u00e9dina) and above-ground strawberries.<\/p>\n\n<p>This event, placed under the sign of discovery and sharing, allowed these young people to dive into the heart of the arboriculturist&#8217;s profession and to understand all its richness. Through exchanges with producers and visits to farms, they were able to measure the diversity of crops made possible by the quality of the soil and the local terroir, but also the vitality of a cooperative network committed to the future.
