Colorful, intense, deeply fragrant… vine peach and nectavigne® are rare fruits, emblematic of the heritage of the Coteaux du Lyonnais, and cultivated with care by SICOLY producers. A double speciality that is both authentic and innovative, which sublimates the summer season from July to September.
The vine peach
A fruit steeped in history, an exceptional taste
The history of vine peaches dates back more than 250 years, when the winegrowers of the Coteaux du Lyonnais planted peach trees sensitive to powdery mildew in the middle of their vines. True natural sentinels, these trees have given rise to a rustic fruit, with characteristic down, intense purple flesh, and a tangy, sweet and very aromatic taste.
Thanks to a rigorous selection carried out over the decades, SICOLY® now offers a complete range of vine peaches, grown in the middle of the terroir, available throughout the summer. This unique fruit seduces with its juicy blood flesh, its powerful fragrance, and its ability to sublimate sweet and savory recipes.
The Nectavigne®
An exclusive creation, born from a terroir and a vision
A fusion between traditional vine peach and modern nectarine, Nectavigne® is the result of passionate work, led in particular by René Monteux-Caillet, and a few visionary producers. The result? A unique fruit, with smooth skin, but purple, straight from its ancestor.
La Nectavigne® preserves:
It can be recognized by its speckled ( or “pigaillé”) skin, a sign of its natural high sugar content. It is a fruit that is both rustic and noble, rare, refined, and perfectly suited to fresh consumption “with a knife” or to gastronomy (pie, compote, jam, nectar, sorbet…)
SICOLY, France’s® leading producer
With a controlled and exclusive production, SICOLY® has established itself as the leading French producer of vine peaches and Nectavigne®. Our orchards, located at altitude, benefit from a climate conducive to the concentration of sugars and aromas and to the expression of the bloodiness of the flesh. Our fruits are harvested when ripe, cooled quickly in the station, and carefully prepared to ensure optimal quality.
