Simon Mermet, who has been living in Mornant since November 2021, has made the strong choice to take over a farm outside the family framework, driven by a deep passion for agriculture and a desire to anchor himself in a meaningful profession.
On his farm, Simon grows a beautiful diversity of fruits with energy: cherries, apples, pears, peaches, apricots, blackcurrants and redcurrants. A varietal richness that reflects its dynamism. In addition, he does not hesitate to test new avenues, such as the cultivation of watermelons, for the Terres LYONNAISES network of short circuit stores, proof of his desire to innovate.
However, cherries remain at the heart of his agricultural project, with an orchard in the process of being renewed, designed to combine quality, yield and sustainability. Attentive to the evolution of practices, he is building a farm in his image step by step: young, committed, looking to the future.
