In Messimy, Yves Bazin has been cultivating his orchards with high standards and passion for nearly 40 years. Farm manager since 1985, he represents the third generation of his family on this land, in an agricultural lineage where transmission and evolution go hand in hand.

From an early age, he helped his father in the orchards, before taking over part of the family farm. In 1988, he chose to stand on his own two feet, renting half of the land to his father to carry out his own business according to his ideas, his convictions and his taste for challenge. Committed to a process of constant improvement, it has several certifications to its credit such as Eco-Responsible Orchards and HVE. These choices not only allow him to better promote his fruit with the SICOLY cooperative, but also to develop his practices towards a more sustainable, more respectful agriculture, more in line with his values.

On his farm, he grows five species of fruit: cherries, apples, pears, quinces and vine peaches, his favourite fruit. A local variety full of character, vine peach perfectly reflects Yves’ personality: generous, resilient and deeply rooted in the terroir.

He also chose this profession for what it represents: a direct confrontation with the elements, with the unexpected, with himself.
